couple or three years ago i went to hear George D and Puddle at edens bar on K'rd. And i swear officer, that for a reason i forget now i was totally, completely & absolutely sober in all ways...not even a beer. And I remember thinking - oh god this is just not gonna work, edens is such dive and George was on stage trying to mine a burnedout melodic genius vibe that really wasn't amounting to anything at all for too many songs in a row...oh dear ...i was not even feeling touched by the dying rays of a distant star...more like - lying dead, forgotten unloved nor lauded and long long gone ...
then suddenly the mood shifts from bleaked-out to psychedelic - and at once we were one and the room spun with a divine talent and we all smiled, ethereal.

I still have no idea how he did that.
Excellent.
My friend Kiran just did an article for the Listener about him. No doubt in the fullness of time you'll be able to find it on their site.
