Hey Lilly, apologies for being so slack at responding to comments at the moment. Steve'll have to give us the details of the book. I snapped the cover when I was round at his place last night for what turned into a bit of a full on whisk[ey/y], tobacco, and big screen playstation soccer session. He'd brought back a cigar from his recent New York jaunt, which was somewhat foolishly followed by my skull pipe. I couldn't get to sleep for ages and am still reeling from the tobacco hit now. All I remember is that it's some guy's autobiography from the 30s (I'm bad with names at the best of times) and that it seemed very appropriate for the times we live in. Isn't the cover a doozy but?

The book in question is by Harry J Greenwall an English foreign correspondent in the 1930's. He seems to cover many countries and the title refers to (I guess) the world being a bit of a basket case at the time. I bought it for the cover at a charity sale for 50 cents. I must get around to reading it some time...

Cool! Thanks for the information :-)
Mr. Rowe, if you do get round to reading it, do let us know what you think, eh?

Listen, David: I didn't mean to 'hassle' you and push for an update. Sorry. I just sometimes worry about my blogger friends; and tend to forget that they do have a life outside of The World of Blogging! ;-)
