Truly unbelievable

The two things I really can't handle at the moment are noise and people. I was woken this morning by our neighbour putting up scaffolding right next to our bedroom window, from where the bastard can look in the window and down into the (previously private) courtyard where I like to smoke cigarettes (which I'm smoking a lot of at the moment), and now no matter where I go I can't escape the extremely loud, continuous noise of hammers, drills, scrapers, etc.

Urgh! That really does suck, David. I totally understand. We had the same bloody thing going on right outside our bedroom window too for about 7 months! They were building a brand new discount chain-store [they finished in August]. Even on SUNDAY mornings at 7am, we'd sometimes get brutally woken up by some noisy machine at full speed! It was hellish -- it really was. I am often too sensitive when it comes to noise -- particularly when I am trying to sleep.

I hope it gets quieter soon so you can get some peace. At least we did not have builders looking right in through our window [not as far as I am aware anyway!]!

mmm...two things I'm not really liking right now are hopelessness and the feeling of being trapped by a society that doesn't want to hear from the artists.

Can you tell how happy I am? I'm sorry about the neighbor. We're having problems now too.

PG: That's not very good at all. Bloody society, bloody neighbours. Look after yourself eh?

David, have you noticed how we all let off steam in here -- that just occurred to me....

:-)

It must be good for us -- thanks for providing the space [and the patience]

You're right - and I hadn't noticed. Venting is always good. Stewing is bad. I've been trying really hard not to let my thoughts get into a death spiral - focusing on something unrelated helps.
