Getting there
Went and had a coffee with my boss to discuss going back to work next week. It was really good, and I plan on showing up on Tuesday morning (Monday being Waitangi Day and all). It'll be pretty strange walking in there again after all this time, but it has to be done. I think the trick'll be not working myself into a state by fretting about it beforehand.

The pipe-this is the infamous pipe. What kind of wood is this? We were at the NY Botantical and they had an amazing carving made out of wood from a New Zealand tree. I was blown away.
Next to the stem on one side are the words 'Real Briar Hand Carved'. On the other side is the word 'Foreign', which led Steve to speculate that it originally came from somewhere like Germany before going to the UK and then eventually ending up here.
The NZ wood was probably Kauri (as in Tane Mahuta) or Rimu.
